How Lust Affects Your Spiritual Sight

Kingdom Greetings brethren. Today we're going to look at one serious spiritual sickness (lust) and how it affects a Christian's spiritual sight.

1 John 2:15-17 KJV
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. [16] For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. [17] And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

We are in the era of intense spiritual activities. The Earth is currently experiencing a massive awakening to the spiritual side of human existence. Many have gone searching for spiritual experiences from the enemy, but that isn't expected of us. God has made available to us every needed tool that will enable us walk in Heavenly supernatural experiences.

I believe that one of the desires of every genuine Christian is to see in the spirit. Every true Christian should desire to experience the supernatural. That isn't unscriptural but actually falls within the will of the LORD for His Church! We are spiritual beings and the LORD doesn't desire to see us live like ordinary people.

Jesus said He sees and does only what the Father does:
John 5:19 KJV
Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.

We are made to be like Him and shouldn't desire nothing farther from that. Our LORD Jesus Christ seeing and doing only what the Father does means that this enables Him operate within the will of the Father, not outside of it. In our ministries we are likewise expected to operate in line with the leading of the Holy Spirit so that we don't do outside God's will. The ability to see in the spirit will enable us do just that and with precision!

Not every Christian is a seer prophet, but that doesn't mean every Christian can't see in the spirit. Seeing in the spirit is a broad topic but I can group the experience into two main categories:

● Seeing while awake and
● Seeing while asleep.

Spiritual Sight for every Christian in the End Time Church is a must have! GOD is busy putting things in order for the final harvest and His second coming. The enemy is also busy with his demons against Christians. We can't afford to stay spiritually blind in these days and times!

If we can't see while awake, every Christian should at least be able to see while sleeping. It's not the will of the LORD that we should only be caught by surprise when the enemy strikes. His plan is to always alert us on what He plans to do next and what the enemy plots (so that we can destroy it by His authority before the enemy successfully executes it).

The sad reality is that some of us can neither see while awake nor while asleep. That is abnormal for a Christian! Some Christians lack direction for their life simply because they can't see in spirit. The LORD promised His Church (in Joel 2:28) the activation of our spiritual faculties so that we can walk in the supernatural. If you’re a Christian who doesn't receive revelations from God while asleep or awake, something is wrong and you need to go to Him to get it fixed!

Christians who have only bad dreams when they sleep need to fix something concerning their spiritual sight!

Joel 2:28-29 KJV
And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: [29] And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.

The Holy Spirit has been poured out on us today. We keep witnessing and experiencing more outpouring and refreshing on daily basis. If we have the Holy Spirit indwelling us but find ourselves experiencing difficulties seeing in the spirit, there are several factors responsible and lust of the eyes is just one of them!

HOW LUST AFFECTS OUR SPIRITUAL SIGHT

Lust is sin and sin is darkness. To live in sin is to live in darkness. Both Lust of the eyes and that of the flesh work in tandem to distort or forfeit a Christian's spiritual sight!

Any Christian who desires to see in the spirit can only do that successfully through the ability of the Holy Spirit indwelling them. Since the Holy Spirit activates our eyes to see in the spirit, one can not use the same pair of eyes for evil and expect them to be able to see in the spirit!

Some of us are not seeing in the spirit due to the fact that lust of the eyes has clouded our spiritual sight. Call me spiritual activist who claims he is perfect but that isn't it. I'm only telling you what you need to know.

Let's take a closer look at Matthew 6:22-23:
The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. [23] But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!

We can not keep praying "Lord open my eyes" and hope to receive answers while we keep sinning with those eyes. True seer prophets will always mention that the ability to see in the spirit is tied to many factors including keeping the eyes from beholding evil.

We need to see what God is doing because we are His sons; we need to see what we need to change in our lives; we need to see what God wants us to do next and we definitely need to see what the enemy is plotting against us and other Christians! Some terrible things that happen to us and our loved ones happen simply because we were unable to see them coming. If we did we would had prayed against them.

Like the Psalmist our prayer should be that the LORD keeps our eyes from beholding evil, since that comes before being able to see in the spirit.
 Psalm 119:37 KJV
Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity; and quicken thou me in thy way.

For Christians who already have this ability active in them, I'll advise you to stay away from sin. If we grieve the Holy Spirit by living in sin we shouldn't expect Him to continue receiving from the Father and show to us. We can not serve two masters at the same time. The Holy Spirit works best for us when He is pleased!

If we submit our entire being to God and live to please Him, we will enjoy the fullness of what it entails to be a Christian. Amen.
